- Safety boats are only provided during official on-water activities and only in the area of the activity in question. At other times, you are "on your own" in terms of safety support. Use the buddy system - it works.
- If there is a medical emergency, contact the "front desk" or one of the people wearing a bright orange or yellow safety vest.
- You must be a safe paddler. This includes wearing a PFD, carrying a whistle, and having flotation in your bow and stern. If you are ever in trouble on the water, start blowing your whistle - one blast means attention, more than one blast means "HELP!!!".
- Alcohol is not allowed during official TAKS activities for insurance purposes.
